Candelilla Wax eLife is more than just a raw material – it’s a product of true partnership.

On-site in Mexico: Our colleague Annabell Pauls (Division Manager Waxes) on quality, partnership, and sustainability in candelilla wax sourcing

Editorial Team: Ms. Pauls, you recently traveled to Mexico to visit our partner Multiceras. What was the purpose of your trip?

Annabell Pauls: Our goal was to understand the entire supply chain of candelilla wax on site – from the harvesting in the Mexican wilderness to the final processing. Multiceras has been a trusted partner of Norevo for years, and it is important to me to personally and regularly connect with the people and processes behind this special raw material.

Editorial Team: What impressed you most during your visit?

Annabell Pauls: The close link between tradition and modern technology. The harvesting of candelilla wax is still largely done by hand and requires a great deal of experience. At the same time, Multiceras continuously invests in modern processing technologies. The combination of local expertise and technological advancement ensures high product quality.

Editorial Team: What role does the partnership with Multiceras play for Norevo?

Annabell Pauls: A very significant one. Through our close collaboration with Multiceras, we can not only ensure consistently high quality but also provide transparency and traceability throughout the supply chain – a topic of growing importance for our customers. Together, we focus on long-term relationships, fair conditions, and sustainable development on site.

Editorial Team: How important is sustainability in this context?

Annabell Pauls: Candelilla wax comes from wild-growing plants, which makes responsible harvesting all the more important. Multiceras works closely with local harvesting communities, supports training programs, and is committed to environmental protection. These aspects are essential for us at Norevo – because sustainability starts right at the source.

Editorial Team: What do you personally take away from this trip?

Annabell Pauls: Above all, respect – for the people on the ground, their work, and their knowledge. It’s impressive to see the dedication with which candelilla wax is harvested. This experience motivates me to continue developing our wax division at Norevo with a strong focus on quality, sustainability, and true partnership.
